About ARPS

American Retirement Plan Services, L.L.C., is an actuarial, consulting, design and administration firm for tax-qualified retirement plans.

We operate under a volume submitter for purposes of preparing new and updated retirement plans documents to comply with mandated law changes.

A Divergence of Expertise

American Retirement Plan Services, L.L.C. is approved by the Maryland Insurance Division as continuing education presenters for maintenance of accreditation.

We represent approximately six hundred and fifty retirement plan clients, ranging in size from solo(k) one participant plans all the way up to several thousand participants. Clients include legal, accounting, medical, dental and other professional services; non-profit organizations; manufacturing, wholesale and retail companies; and financial service and insurance brokers.

We administer all types of qualified retirement plans including 401(k) plans, 403(b) plans, Cash Balance plans and 457(b) plans. While many of our clients are local, we service clients all across the country.

Our Owners

David S. Cohen, C.E.O

David S. Cohen, A.R.P.S. C.E.O., graduated in 1961 from the advanced college preparatory course of Baltimore City College, where he was a member of the Honor Society and the honorary school Service Club. In 1965, Mr. Cohen graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Accounting and Business Administration.

In 1972, following several positions of employment, Mr. Cohen co-founded a pension consulting firm located in Baltimore, Maryland.

From 1975 to 1996, David S. Cohen worked as an instructor in the Division of Continuing Education at Catonsville Community College, where he lectured the “Planning for Your Retirement” course and also provided the staff with current issue revisions and workbook updates.

Mr. Cohen is also actively involved as a volunteer and an officer in several area organizations.

Amy Cohen Uddeme

Amy Cohen Uddeme, President of A.R.P.S., graduated in 1998 from the University of Arizona with a Bachelors degree in Journalism.

Following a position with WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Uddeme joined A.R.P.S. in late 1999 as a pension consultant.

Amy C. Uddeme meets with prospective clients and their financial consultants and accountants to create the appropriate plan design.

Amy is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association Employee Benefits Group, NIPA, ASPPA and teaches a continuing education class on issues in Retirement Plan Design.

Ms. Uddeme is on the board of The Red Devils as well as Krieger Schechter Day School and sits on The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore’s Retirement Subcommittee.
